A friend's Article: My First Personal Experiences with my Applications for a Visa to Canada

Originally, I was an aspiring worker hunting some jobs overseas to find my own luck. I invested on so much time, trying to find the right job for me. I was on a roll when applying to jobs that fit my capabilities and hoping that finally have the chance to stay and work abroad.

After thorough research, I came upon some articles about emigrating to Canada; Articles saying that it is a very good choice. They have a lot of programs for foreigners seeking employment.  I immediately assessed my credentials over the internet and sad to say, I was rejected, saying that I did not have enough points to continue. These made me think and ask: I have a fairly good resume and skills, but why can’t pass the assessment?

With the rejection of my legitimacy for emigrating to Canada, I researched some more on the possible routes in gaining a visa to Canada. I was dealing with a lot of pages that don’t give out anything about the immigration process in detail. They were most likely just a bunch of pitches to bring me to their site, or have no personal experiences on emigrating to Canada. I was ultimately crushed on my first day of researching about it and emigrating to Canada was a bit too far to reach by then.

Luck came the next day when I started to do more specific searches. I finally encountered Canada immigration and it is there that I had a foothold for the realization of my dream. There was a lot to offer in this site, of course I was naïve and did not know that this was the official site for Canada immigration. This was the help I was wishing for,

Canada immigration explained a lot of procedures for the Visa to Canada to be approved and I was often shocked of Canada’s programs for having work inside their country. I honestly thought it was going to be easy, but then I was wrong again. Frustrated at what I read, I just headed to bed and slept. Frustrations just took over.

When morning came, something made me think of researching about the possible ways to go Canada; I reread all the sites that had plenty of articles regarding their Canada visa application process and focused on finding a job. When I came by Immigration Canada’s pages, I came to a conclusion; I might as well take the online assessment again I had the same results. Bu then, I asked: Why am I not eligible for any visit to Canada. Then it struck me, there was a point based system for the assessment which focused on your finances. I tracked the point based system and I had finally established it: I lack Money and an employer. Ouch!

I was on the Brink of giving up and I started to think about the possibilities. I asked a lot of questions to myself. If Canada is one of the best places to immigrate then why am I not having the best yet? Emigrating to Canada was not as easy as I thought. I was short in Finances and I had no Idea if I were to continue with my plans or not. There was a chess match going inside my head and a lot was happening. Reason after reasons came up one after another.

Well after the chess match in my head, I did not research on any stuff and nor did I plan on taking up any for the visa to Canada. This was for about 2, 3 weeks after, but I guess fate sometimes brings in options for you. I was happily eating my lunch at a diner when I overheard some guys talking about the immigration all across Canada and why they should try it. Apparently, one of their friends who used to work for a bakery have gotten inside of Canada and started working there for a pizza parlor. I said to myself, WOW! So it is possible.

I was up and running to my PC when I got home. Again, patiently I browsed and researched. I came to Immigration Canada, then I found out I was missing one other thing; you should, under some type of visa to Canada and have a good job offer. I started to find a job to Canada. There were plenty and I just made applications to fifty. It was like a fishing expedition and I did this for about two weeks…then nothing.

I think I was in a dilemma back then, but I never stopped hoping for a respond. I only got one after 2 months. They offered me something: A job interview. I said to myself, I’m going to get work and study for the interview and I’ll be employed no matter what. As stubborn as ever, I walked the path of my mission to pass the interview and be hired. The interview will be held in 2 weeks and I researched everything about the job offer including the company’s background. I thought I was ready 5 ays before the interview: Confident!

During the schedule of the interview, I waited for the call. Guess what, the interview never happened. All the excitement fell down to sadness. They said they could not contact me and now I’m really confused. I double checked each number and letters of my submitted contact details and they turned out to be correct. They tried to call me up twice and got no connections again. I guess it wall bad luck.

Right now, I just want to get a hold of something to be able to go to Canada. The employer has stopped replying on my emails and it looks like I have been disqualified for the job application to Canada. But maybe I’ll have another one and I’ll have to fix these problems with the contacts. Sooner or later I may have what it takes to finish up the applications and have to work in Canada.  Hopefully!

Should You Hire A Visa Consultant to Have Your Canadian Visa Approved?

Many people want to work or study and even migrate to Canada because of the promising life it offers. However, living working in Canada is easier said than done. This is because of the many Canada visa applications or Canada visa requirements to fulfill in order to get hold of the appropriate visa Canada that would allow you entrance to the country.
The Canada visa has always been the main issue for entry. The visa allows you entry to the country but specified to that duration and purpose of stay. There are processes involved in the application of the visa. These processes are defined and updated over time to allow for changes in the system and to adapt to the current situations of the immigration.

The immigration agent

To make the entire process easier, many recommend hiring an agent or working with immigration consultancy group. This is a great way to reduce the burden on researching about what needs to be done and the steps to be taken. An agent or consulting firm will give you an idea of what visa to apply to when aspiring to study in Canada. They will also aid you of the different options you have if you wish to live in Canada. This is also a very good way of finding out the latest you r options in immigrating to Canada. This also gives the advantage of finding work in Canada.
There are other advantages of hiring a visa consultant. One is that he will help you understand the entire process. Consultancy firms and agents will also assess your eligibility for the Canada visa even before you start the application. They give you a head start for the application.  If you are not qualified to apply for a certain type of visa, he will give you other options. You will also be notified of what you can do to become a resident of the country.

Canada Immigration scams

Although there are a lot of advantages of having a visa consultant, you also have to be careful as there are a lot of fraudsters today. Many have developed different types of scams to take advantage of individuals like you.  This is why you have to be very careful when choosing a consultancy firm to partner with.
The most common type of Frauds is based in fake job offers. These are magnets when it comes to instant immigration schemes that will leave your pocket empty.

To avoid any connection with fraudulent entities, here are some tips to help you:
  1. Ask for recommendations and referrals from people you know. If you have friends or relatives who have successfully moved to Canada or acquired any type of Canadian visa, ask them about their agency. If they were pleased with the services of that agency, they will recommend it to you. However having referrals does not mean that you have to choose to work with the recommended agency or consultancy firm right away. You should collect more information about other potential firms so that you can compare them. Researching on the company’s past connections and standings with BBB.com is a very way of evaluating the legitimacy of the agency or firm.
  2. You have to put up a list of possible firms or agencies to work with. Having this list will make it easier to choose which entity will represent you in the immigration. Always do every research possible for every item on your list.
  3. Once you have produced a short list of the possible firms or agencies to work with, conduct a background check. Online information about the firm is helpful. However, you should also verify that information; there are a lot of on line hoaxes made to give good testimonials that are biased. You can check different forums and discussion boards to see if there are any complaints against the agency you are considering. You should check with the corresponding government agency to check for any case filed against the firm. It is also helpful to check if the agency is affiliated with any global association or if they are a global company. This way, you can rest assured that you are in good hands.
  4. You should also check how long has the firm been in the industry. This will greatly speak of their competence, ethical approach and professionalism. If they have been in the industry for a while, then you can be certain that they know what it takes to get you a visa for Canada.
  5. Compare consultancy firms, base on reputation, competencies and rates. You should not base your choice on rate alone as this does not guarantee good and competent service. If the rate is too good to be true, then it probably is. This is why you need to check the average rate in the market. This way, you will have an idea of how much to pay the firm you would choose. But beyond that, check the reputation of the company. Where they able to help individuals emigrate to Canada or get a work permit in Canada, at least?
  6. There are a lot of trusted consultancy firms in the market today just like Global Visas, but before trusting a visa consultant, verify first that he is an affiliate of the company you trust. Any consultant or agent can claim that he works for a trustworthy agency. This is why you need to check on his claim. Ask a copy of his identification or registration number or code. It is also crucial that he meets you in his company office. Do not just rely on phone calls or meet ups outside the offices.
  7. Ask for referrals. If the claimed success rates were true, you should be able to see testimonials from their clients. You can learn a lot from what their previous clients have to say. They can even help you decide whether to continue working with the consultancy firm or not.
  8. Although you have hired a consultant to make the entire process easier, understanding it yourself will increase your chances of success. Often, agents will be talking about things you do not understand. If this happens, do not hesitate to ask. They should explain them to you.
Asking the help of a visa consultant agency or firm will greatly help you in your application for visa to Canada. He or she will help you understand the process and simplify the confusing steps. The agent will also help you prepare the requirements you need, which will depend if you are going to work or study there. He or she will also prepare you in your interview before the visa approval. Since the agent plays an important role, it is crucial that you look for one who is competent, reliable and legit to help you.
Hiring an immigration consultant or agent to help you with your Canada visa applications and completing the Canada visa requirements is good it is not required. It is all dependent on your own choice. You can complete the Canada visa grant without having any help form a third party, but having connections will help.

How to Start Working In Canada

If you are looking for a job with a decent pay, then Canada is the right place for you. Canada has been a dream place for working abroad because of the steady increase of economy with a fair cost of living. There are processes involved for you to have the privileges of working inside of Canada. Remember that you have to get a good grasp of knowledge on Canada immigration policies and procedures. You have to find a good bearing on your applications for the requirements as well as your employment.  So how will you get started? Here are some tips to help you:

Get a Canada work permit.

This is a requirement for foreign individuals who are seeking employment in Canada. This is a temporary resident visa with a validity of one year but could last for up to three years in certain circumstances. The Citizenship and Immigration Canada issues the work permit.

How to Apply for Canada Work Permit?

Normally, the work permit is issued to individuals who have prearranged work in Canada. These individuals have received job offers from Canadian employers or those who have existing contracts there.
Arranged work in Canada is not always necessary. Individuals may receive work permits without an existing employer. They are the partners or spouses who are merely accompanying foreign workers in the country. This may be the case for people involved in self-employment that can help alleviate and or help in any way the cultural activities in Canadian societies.
Those who have business dealings in the country may also seek work permit. These may be given out in temporary status. Most of these permits are based on business visits concerning trainings and dealings alike. Get a preliminary assessment from top class immigration on line sites. They are free and should be able to help you out with your business visits catered in Canadian work permits.

The Canada Work Permit Application Process:

You can submit your application to the Canadian Visa Office in your country if a visitor visa is necessary. These offices may be the Canadian Embassy or Canadian Consulates having jurisdiction on your regions. With these offices, you can also assess whether you are required to have a visa as a requirement for the visit.
If no visitor visa is required, you may submit your application in any port of entry to Canada. However, you should note that there are certain applications that have to be checked and evaluated in a Canadian visa office. This means that submitting your application in a Visa office is more convenient, thus recommended.
You may also submit an application while visiting Canada as long as your status is legit. However, such application has to be submitted to a location outside the country such as a visa office abroad or to the Canadian point of entry. You should visit a Canadian Embassy or Consulate for more accurate responses regarding your queries.
You need to attach supporting documents to your application. See to it that you have attached a job offer and other documents that will prove that you have arranged work in Canada. In addition to that, you need to attach legal documents like your passport, birth certificate, marriage contracts (if applicable) and credentials for both your educational attainment and work experiences.
Since you cannot work in Canada without the permit, you need to have an idea of how long it will take before the permit will be approved and released. The wait could last from hours to months, depending on the job offer, the country you are from as well as your potential work location. Most applicants will be required to undergo medical examinations. This could cause further delays to your permit’s approval.

Finding an employer:

Online information allows you to find an employer in Canada. Although this is convenient, you have to be careful because there are a lot of fraudulent schemes online. A Canadian employer can only hire a foreign employee if no Canadian or permanent resident is fit for the job. He has to be certain as well, that hiring a foreigner will not have adverse effect on the labor market and finally, the employer should adhere to all the conditions and requirements set before him.
There are a lot of programs that support job openings for foreigners. One thing is certain; you have to find a job in Canada if you plan on getting a permanent residence. You may be able to get more support from the Immigration Canada official site or have third parties with technical expertise to assist you. These agencies such as Globalvisas.com focus their services in assisting individuals seeking visits in any foreign country and purpose like Working in Canada.

Changing employers:

You can change employers provided that you have maintained a good reputation and tenure with the past employer. You should also have no binding contracts that can stop you on your transfer. In any circumstance however, if you want to change employers, you have to acquire a new work permit for the new job. Bear in mind that the permit is issued on specific grounds such as employers and positions. You will not be able to use your existing work permit t work for someone else.
When serious about changing employers and applying for a new job permit, be courteous enough to inform the previous employer of your plans to transfer.  This will also make the process of applying for a new work permit faster and hassle free.
AS to the binding contracts and required tenure for the previous employer, do not get any smart ideas of getting a new job without completing the requirements on the documents. You are still under the jurisdiction of Canada immigration laws and should abide in every single policy. Failure to do so may be to revocation and deportation.

Getting a Permanent Resident Visa:

The work permit is only a temporary resident visa. It does not automatically qualify you for a Canadian permanent resident visa. On the other hand, this does not restrict you from applying for a permanent resident visa either. In fact, this can be an advantage for the grant of such visa. You have to remember that your application for permanent residency does not automatically extend your work permit.
Working in Canada offers a lot of benefits. But before you can work there, you need to acquire a Canadian work permit. This temporary resident visa is usually issued to those who have arranged work in Canada, unless you are just accompanying your spouse who is a foreign worker there.
There are a lot of processes and category in to which your work permit may be extended or leveled to a permanent residence. you should not nag work permit applications and deadlines. You can extend your working holiday visa, student visa and visitor/business visa to a working permit first, then getting later to the permanent residence applications. All your previous connections to Canada visa and immigration will help on the application process. Maintaining a good and outright honest stay will be of great aid with your Canada permanent resident visa application process.
