A friend's Article: My First Personal Experiences with my Applications for a Visa to Canada

Originally, I was an aspiring worker hunting some jobs overseas to find my own luck. I invested on so much time, trying to find the right job for me. I was on a roll when applying to jobs that fit my capabilities and hoping that finally have the chance to stay and work abroad.

After thorough research, I came upon some articles about emigrating to Canada; Articles saying that it is a very good choice. They have a lot of programs for foreigners seeking employment.  I immediately assessed my credentials over the internet and sad to say, I was rejected, saying that I did not have enough points to continue. These made me think and ask: I have a fairly good resume and skills, but why can’t pass the assessment?

With the rejection of my legitimacy for emigrating to Canada, I researched some more on the possible routes in gaining a visa to Canada. I was dealing with a lot of pages that don’t give out anything about the immigration process in detail. They were most likely just a bunch of pitches to bring me to their site, or have no personal experiences on emigrating to Canada. I was ultimately crushed on my first day of researching about it and emigrating to Canada was a bit too far to reach by then.

Luck came the next day when I started to do more specific searches. I finally encountered Canada immigration and it is there that I had a foothold for the realization of my dream. There was a lot to offer in this site, of course I was naïve and did not know that this was the official site for Canada immigration. This was the help I was wishing for,

Canada immigration explained a lot of procedures for the Visa to Canada to be approved and I was often shocked of Canada’s programs for having work inside their country. I honestly thought it was going to be easy, but then I was wrong again. Frustrated at what I read, I just headed to bed and slept. Frustrations just took over.

When morning came, something made me think of researching about the possible ways to go Canada; I reread all the sites that had plenty of articles regarding their Canada visa application process and focused on finding a job. When I came by Immigration Canada’s pages, I came to a conclusion; I might as well take the online assessment again I had the same results. Bu then, I asked: Why am I not eligible for any visit to Canada. Then it struck me, there was a point based system for the assessment which focused on your finances. I tracked the point based system and I had finally established it: I lack Money and an employer. Ouch!

I was on the Brink of giving up and I started to think about the possibilities. I asked a lot of questions to myself. If Canada is one of the best places to immigrate then why am I not having the best yet? Emigrating to Canada was not as easy as I thought. I was short in Finances and I had no Idea if I were to continue with my plans or not. There was a chess match going inside my head and a lot was happening. Reason after reasons came up one after another.

Well after the chess match in my head, I did not research on any stuff and nor did I plan on taking up any for the visa to Canada. This was for about 2, 3 weeks after, but I guess fate sometimes brings in options for you. I was happily eating my lunch at a diner when I overheard some guys talking about the immigration all across Canada and why they should try it. Apparently, one of their friends who used to work for a bakery have gotten inside of Canada and started working there for a pizza parlor. I said to myself, WOW! So it is possible.

I was up and running to my PC when I got home. Again, patiently I browsed and researched. I came to Immigration Canada, then I found out I was missing one other thing; you should, under some type of visa to Canada and have a good job offer. I started to find a job to Canada. There were plenty and I just made applications to fifty. It was like a fishing expedition and I did this for about two weeks…then nothing.

I think I was in a dilemma back then, but I never stopped hoping for a respond. I only got one after 2 months. They offered me something: A job interview. I said to myself, I’m going to get work and study for the interview and I’ll be employed no matter what. As stubborn as ever, I walked the path of my mission to pass the interview and be hired. The interview will be held in 2 weeks and I researched everything about the job offer including the company’s background. I thought I was ready 5 ays before the interview: Confident!

During the schedule of the interview, I waited for the call. Guess what, the interview never happened. All the excitement fell down to sadness. They said they could not contact me and now I’m really confused. I double checked each number and letters of my submitted contact details and they turned out to be correct. They tried to call me up twice and got no connections again. I guess it wall bad luck.

Right now, I just want to get a hold of something to be able to go to Canada. The employer has stopped replying on my emails and it looks like I have been disqualified for the job application to Canada. But maybe I’ll have another one and I’ll have to fix these problems with the contacts. Sooner or later I may have what it takes to finish up the applications and have to work in Canada.  Hopefully!
